Vision
While in the Western hemisphere different databases were separately developed for moveable heritage (e.g. paintings, antiques, etc.), immoveable heritage (e.g. monuments, historic buildings, archeological sites, etc.) and intangible heritage (e.g. oral history, music, dance), with no interconnection provided, the African culture and perspective inspired the Foundation to adapt its system to this broader insight and visionary future use. Considering that tangible heritage is the physical manifestation of intangible heritage, the connected classes or links between the tangible and intangible 'components' of cultural heritage will make the database a most efficient and complete model for research and scholarship.
